Looking Up

Looking up
At the cool blue night sky,
I hear sounds of nature.
Birds hop through bushes,
Articulately looking for worms.
The sky gets darker.
The birds stop.
I hear cars dashing through streets.
A girl calls for her mother,
Microwaves ding,
The heat cycles on in man-homes.
My flashlight flickers.
A door shuts.
And white noise fills my ears.
